Smart Watering With A Midwestern Touch

Hello,

My name is Kevin and I’m That Irrigation Guy. I’ve worked in the landscaping industry for almost a decade with experience spanning irrigation, landscaping/gardening, tree care, and natural preservation. I learned and mastered micro irrigation techniques from Dan the Aquaman in the Chicago for many years before moving to the mid-Hudson Valley. In New York I’ve worked as the Meadows and Preserve Technician for Teatown Lakes Reservation in Ossining and as an Ecological Gardener and Irrigation Manager for Plan it Wild in Westchester County. Through this experience I’ve built a robust plant knowledge, especially native New York plants.

Born and raised in Illinois, I developed a love for landscaping helping my parents in the yard as a kid. In college I did volunteer trail work in Colorado’s Garden of the Gods and this really solidified my passion for the environment. I jumped into the field with a role as an irrigation technician in Chicago and haven’t looked back.

Throughout my career I’ve worked on projects as big as corporate campuses and as small as penthouse decks. I’ve helped install green roofs for hospitals and have worked on the system at the renovated Rock&Roll McDonald’s in Chicago’s West Loop. I’ve managed the system maintenance for Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer, planted the garden at the Bedford Audubon, and installed forests at grade schools in Connecticut. At Teatown I managed the meadows, trails, forests, and building landscaping across the entire 1,000 acre preserve.

My diverse experience has taught me valuable skills in project management, organization, and communication. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of people on a lot of project and have hand-picked insights from each to bring to my own business while building great relationships with everyone I’ve met on my journey.

In 2023 I started That Irrigation Guy serving northern Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange counties. I’ve partnered with like-minded businesses in Plan it Wild, Rosewater Garden Design, Let it Grow Landscapes, and Seedhead Gardens to seamlessly integrate irrigation into their designs. As of 2024, I serve clients in towns as north as Wallkill and as south as Ossining.

One thing that distinguishes me from the usual contractor is that I am also an artist. I take a thoughtful approach to the work I do while prioritizing aesthetics and functionality. I carefully consider your yard’s needs while accounting for future growth. I then build my irrigation systems to be discrete and hidden so the watering happens like magic!

If you’ve come this far, I thank you sincerely for reading my story. Your yard has a story to tell too. Let’s tell it together.
